Based in Singapore, Shopthemag.com is the world’s first luxury website dedicated entirely to retailing Asian designer brands. Brands that they currently carry include Singapore’s Koonhor and alldressedup; Thailand’s The Only Son, FlyNow, Issue and Disaya; India’s Manish Arora and Japan’s Akira Naka, among others. Our customer base includes fashion forward women the world over, from China, to the Middle East, to Europe and the USA.

They recently invited me to be part of the exciting launch of their B.A.D Campaign. Standing for “Backing Asian Designers”, the B.A.D campaign is aimed at creating greater awareness of the fast-growing Asian fashion industry through different platforms, from insightful interviews with the movers and shakers supporting the Asian fashion industry to fabulous shopping giveaways.

In addition to this, they’re building a Facebook photo album of fashion “influencers” showing their support for Asian designers by wearing either a piece of clothing/accessory or an entire outfit from Asian designers. The slogan for this album is “I’m B.A.D”!
I sent one of the photos from my previous shoot with Hannah Reyes. The blazer that I’m wearing above is actually a school project. You must have pride or be proud of your own work, right? I made it from scratch — from pattern making to sewing! :)

Actually is a shop based from Singapore as well. Located at Seah Street, it’s the place to go to for quality street chic fashion. Its easy-going and playful attitude is reflected in the shop interior as well as merchandise carried, which comprises an eclectic mix of premium street brands such as Freitag and Lazy Oaf with lifestyle and concept labels like Pantone and Delfonics.

Last February, I was fortunate enough to be featured in their online magazine, Actuallymag.com. They dubbed me as Manila’s Influential Fashion Bloggers of Today. Check out the interview here. Special thanks to Tina Carillo, one of Actuallymag.com’s contributors from Manila.

Pau Franco is a professional illustrator and graphic designer from Argentina. She wrote me an e-mail and asked my permission if she could use one of my outfit photos and illustrate it. Upon receiving her request, I instantly said yes! Check out her amazing work above. She used this outfit as a reference for her illustration. It’s so beautifully rendered, don’t you think? Gracias, Pau! <3

This is what I wore to AWW’s (Ateneo Women’s Week) illustration workshop last Monday. I knew ahead of time that the venue of the talk does not have air conditioning so I wore something light and airy on top. The skirt is a perfect chic juxtaposition of sophisticated and casual. Wearing heels was not out of the question, but I didn’t want to wear a pair of really high heels so I opted for wedges.

I got invited to talk/host a workshop about fashion illustration for Ateneo Women’s Week. They told me that I can invite someone to speak alongside me so it will be easier. Who else would I tap? None other than my brain twin, Rj Santos! Like me, he’s a former Fine Arts student at the University of Santo Tomas. Currently, we’re both taking up Clothing Technology at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Naturally, we love to design, draw, and paint. In fact, Fashion Illustration is one of our favorite subjects in school! :)
To all Ateneo de Manila University students, the free workshop is happening tomorrow, 4:30-6:00pm at SOM203! Don’t forget to bring some papers and drawing materials! See you there!

As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I was invited by UP ABAM (Association of Business Administration Majors) to be one of their guest speakers for their event called FashBiz.

Before going to the event, I took a photo of myself using the highly addictive Instagram. If you have an Instagram, add me @tiniglesias! Oh and please excuse the vanity. Hahaha! :)

With my Clothing Technology adviser and teacher Ms. Kitty Caragay. She’s one of the guest speakers, too!

So basically, the theme of the talk was how we pursued our love for fashion, and how that passion gave way to different business opportunities for us. I shared how I started my career, the perks and disadvantages of what I do, and fun moments, among others.

Magic 89.9 FM Junior Jock/Sportswriter Ally Lim and UP Men’s Football Team player Miguel Roy hosted the event. Miguel and I have been friends since grade school so I was so happy to see him that day!

Once again, thank you UP ABAM for having me! I hope you learned something from my talk. :) If you have photos of us, kindly e-mail them to me at tin_iglesias@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!!! :)

This is what I wore to the FashBiz event held at my school last Saturday. I was invited to be one of UP ABAM’s guest speakers so I knew I had to dress the part. One of the essential public speaking skills is presentation, and it begins visually. So, before going on stage, be sure that you are dressed for success and that you present an air of professionalism! After all, people are coming to you to find out how to emulate your success, right? I chose to wear this two-tone chiffon dress from I Heart Matilda because it’s lovely and elegant.
