Preview Magazine’s Augmented Reality PressCon

Last Thursday, December 9, 2010, I attended Preview Magazine’s Augmented Reality Press Conference at CAV Wine Shop and Café, Bonifacio High Street with fashion bloggers Karl, Kookie, Edrick, Paul, Bjorn, Ana and Meryl. Preview introduced the newest technical innovation in its December issue, with the gorgeous Solenn Heussaff on the cover.

Augmented reality, according to Edna Belleza, the senior vice president and chief information officer of GMA New Media, Inc., is “the technology or process of combining a real-world scene with computer imagery. This often required a camera, a screen, and a trigger that starts the Augmented Reality experience.”

The print marker found on the lower left side of the front cover is your key to seeing cover girl Solenn Heussaff, dressed in Tory Burch’s 2011 Resort Collection, as she talks and walks her way around a virtual computer-generated world.

To experience this Augmented Reality technology, log on to www.stylebible.ph/preview_augmented_reality, and select the link that turns on the webcam. Tilt the magazine in different directions and see Solenn jetset across four different and fabulous places.

In addition, they also launched the Preview Mobile. Starting this December, you can share your comments and reactions about the pages of this month’s magazine through your phone. The Preview team also talked about their plans for 2011. They will be available via Zinio starting January 2011, and with this technology, you can have your copy of Preview in your desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, among others.

Too bad I wasn’t able to take photos with the other bloggers and the Preview team as I had to leave early and  rush to school for an exam.
