Legend

In line with Ray-Ban’s 75th anniversary, I was inspired to write a post about striving to become a legend in your own little way. As a child growing up, I used to design clothes for my Barbie dolls; now I design clothes for women. I had never even dreamed that I could be a fashion designer and stylist, even though I had always loved and appreciated fashion. Style always interested me, and in my own ways I would bring the love of fashion into my life. I pull inspirations from everything I am surrounded by and I view my design aesthetic as being a story of who I am, which means that it is different and constantly changing and growing.

It is true that nothing in this world that’s worth having comes easy. What follows the set target is the discipline to work towards it. Fortitude comes easy when you are striving for the things you want in life, it shouldn’t feel harsh to work towards what you desire for because you’re enjoying it and you love what you’re doing. But what if you’re not? Then probably, what you’re doing is not what you really want in life. Always keeping in mind that a goal without time limit is not a goal and a goal that comes effortless is not a goal as well because it was at hand all along. That is not saying that taking risks without planning is the answer, however, conscientiousness and perseverance will take us on top.

Right now, things are stressful and pretty tough, but I know I’ve got to get through it and work really hard to reach my dreams. I’ve been discouraged a few times by people telling me what I’m capable of doing and not. However, I realized that the complicated times I came across helped me appreciate the good times I currently have and will experience. No pain, no gain, and losing focus will take me nowhere. Life is definitely not easy; it is a minefield of challenges and there are a lot of social and emotional hardships. But the strife with life’s challenges is what made me grow into the person I am today.

I believe that true strength comes from complex situations. The only way to succeed is by approaching life’s challenges head on, and not giving up out of fear. I am not perfect, I still struggle with some problems, but when I do, I always bear in mind my philosophy of life and I know that everything will eventually be okay and fall into place.

It might take a while to discover your hidden legend, but when you do find it, you will be enlightened. It’s not about getting famous, its about being a legend, being someone worth remembering and being looked upon for inspiration and growth. It’s never too late and never too early to start doing things you really believe in!
