Art and Sole

A few weeks ago, Keds Philippines sent me a pair of white Champion canvas sneakers. The most well-known of the Keds sneakers, the Champion is a true minimalist shoe offered in oxford and slip-on styles.

Attached to the package was an invitation to The Original Sneaker Exhibit, which was held last December 5. I wasn’t able to attend because I had to finish a huge amount of work. :( But essentially, they gave me the shoes for me to paint them on at the Art and Sole: Sneaker Design Workshop by Cj de Silva, one of the activities prepared by the Brown Bag Vintage and Crafts Market last Saturday.

The event was supposed to start at 5pm but I arrived at the Filipinas Heritage Library at around 5:30pm due to the terrible traffic. Fortunately for me, the event started late! By 7pm, it still hasn’t started but waiting wasn’t really boring for me because I was with bloggers Ava and Ana! Haha :)

I didn’t want to leave the event but since I extremely value my time and I had to do a lot of other things, I decided to go and just paint the shoes at home.

So here’s what I came up with, I hope you like it! :) Good thing I kept all the art materials I used when I was still studying Fine Arts.

Thanks to Keds Philippines and Nori of Brown Bag Events Management for the invitation and for the shoes. :)
